Toyota Hilux Front Shock Absorber Replacement: Left and Right Side Repair

Inspecting the Front Wheel and Suspension

Before starting the repair, I checked the front wheel area of the Toyota Hilux. The vehicle was brought in for work on the front suspension, where the shock absorbers on both the left and right sides needed to be replaced.

The wheel was checked first before removing the suspension components and starting the replacement work

Removing the Old Shock Absorber

After checking the front wheel area, the wheel was removed to access the suspension components.

The old shock absorber was then removed from the front suspension. This step provided access for installing the replacement shock absorber on the vehicle

Removing the Right-Side Shock Absorber

After removing the wheel and accessing the suspension, the old shock absorber from the right front side was removed.

The removed absorber was kept separately before installing the replacement part. The same replacement work was also carried out on the left front side.

Installing the New Shock Absorber

After removing the old shock absorber, I moved on to the installation of the new one on the left front side of the Toyota Hilux.

First, I placed a jack underneath the lower wheel-side area and raised it to the required position. This gave enough access to install the new shock absorber.

The new shock absorber was then fitted into its position and secured properly. After installation, the suspension area was checked before moving on to the remaining work

Completing the Front Suspension Work

The same shock absorber replacement work was carried out on the right front side as well. The old faulty absorbers were removed and the new ones were installed on both front sides of the Hilux.

Completing the Shock Absorber Replacement

After installing the new shock absorbers on both the left and right front sides, the wheels were fitted back into their positions.

The suspension components were checked after installation, and the wheel was secured back onto the vehicle. The front shock absorber replacement work was then completed.
