2018 Hyundai Elantra Brake Repair: Replacing Four Damaged Brake Discs
A 2018 Hyundai Elantra came to our workshop today with a serious braking problem. The customer explained that the brakes were not working properly and that the vehicle behaved badly whenever it was driven on the road. According to the customer, the car was taking too much force while driving, and the braking system did not feel normal.
After listening to the customer's complaint, we decided to inspect the braking system carefully before recommending any repair. Brake problems should never be ignored because a vehicle with poor braking performance can become dangerous, especially during emergency braking or while driving at higher speeds.
The vehicle was brought into the workshop, and our mechanic started checking the wheels and brake components.
Initial Inspection of the Hyundai Elantra
The first step was to lift the vehicle and remove the wheels so that we could inspect the braking components behind them.
The 2018 Hyundai Elantra has four wheels, with two wheels at the front and two at the rear. During the inspection, the mechanic discovered that the brake discs were in poor condition. The problem was not limited to just one wheel. The discs on all four wheels needed to be replaced.
The condition of the discs explained why the customer was experiencing problems while driving and braking. Instead of simply replacing one component without checking the rest of the system, we inspected all four wheels to make sure the actual source of the problem was identified.
This is an important part of brake repair. A mechanic should not immediately replace parts without first checking the complete braking system. In this case, inspecting all four wheels helped us understand the full condition of the vehicle
Discussing the Repair Cost With the Customer
After the inspection, we explained the problem to the customer and told him that the damaged brake discs needed to be changed.
The initial price we gave the customer for the work was 500 Saudi Riyals. The customer asked if the price could be reduced and offered 300 Saudi Riyals.
After discussing the job, we agreed to complete the work for 300 Saudi Riyals.
The customer decided to wait at the workshop because the job was expected to take approximately one hour. We then started the repair.
Removing the Front Wheels
We began with the front of the Hyundai Elantra.
The mechanic removed the left-side front wheel first and then worked on the right-side front wheel. Once the wheels were removed, the damaged brake discs could be accessed.
The old front discs were removed and replaced with new ones. The brake components were checked during the process to make sure everything was positioned correctly.
After installing the new discs, the front wheels were fitted back into place.
At this stage, the front brake work was complete.
Working on the Rear Wheels
After completing the front wheels, we moved to the rear of the vehicle.
The rear wheels were removed one by one so that the condition of the rear brake discs could be inspected and the damaged components could be replaced.
Because all four discs had been found to be in poor condition, the rear discs were also changed.
Once the new rear discs were installed, the wheels were fitted back onto the vehicle.
The mechanic then checked the work on all four corners of the car.
Completing the Brake Repair
With the front and rear discs replaced, the main repair was finished.
Before handing the vehicle back to the customer, we performed a final inspection. We wanted to make sure that the wheels were properly installed and that there were no obvious problems remaining with the braking system.
The customer then got into the vehicle to check the repair himself.
He pressed the brake pedal and tested the vehicle around the workshop area. The braking response felt much better than before.
However, because the original complaint involved the vehicle being driven on the road, we decided that a proper road test was important
I went with the customer for a short driving test on the road.
We drove the Hyundai Elantra for approximately five minutes so that the customer could properly evaluate the braking performance.
During the road test, the customer paid close attention to the way the car responded when the brakes were applied. After driving for several minutes, he told us that the vehicle was now working properly.
The braking problem he had experienced before the repair was no longer noticeable to him.
This final road test was an important part of today's job because it allowed the customer to personally confirm that the repair had improved the vehicle's braking performance.
Customer Was Satisfied With the Result
After returning to the workshop, the customer was satisfied with the repair.
He completed the payment of 300 Saudi Riyals, thanked us for the work, and then left the workshop with his Hyundai Elantra.
For us, the most important part of a repair is not simply replacing parts. It is identifying the actual problem, completing the work properly, and making sure the customer is satisfied with the result.
Why Brake Disc Condition Matters
Brake discs play an important role in a vehicle's braking system. When the brake pedal is pressed, the brake pads work against the discs to slow down the wheels.
If the discs become badly damaged, worn, warped, or otherwise unsuitable for service, braking performance can be affected. Drivers may notice unusual braking behavior, vibration, noise, reduced braking performance, or other changes.
That is why brake components should be inspected when a customer reports a braking problem.
In today's Hyundai Elantra repair, the inspection showed that the problem involved the condition of the discs at all four wheels. Replacing the damaged discs restored the vehicle's braking behavior according to the customer's road test.
Final Thoughts From Today's Workshop Job
Today's 2018 Hyundai Elantra repair was a straightforward but important brake job.
The customer originally arrived with a braking complaint and explained that the car was not behaving normally on the road. After inspecting the vehicle, we found that the brake discs on all four wheels were damaged and needed replacement.
We originally quoted 500 Saudi Riyals, but after discussing the price with the customer, we agreed on 300 Saudi Riyals.
The repair started with the two front wheels, followed by the two rear wheels. After replacing the damaged discs and reinstalling the wheels, the vehicle was checked and then taken on a short road test with the customer.
After approximately five minutes of driving, the customer confirmed that the vehicle was working properly and that the braking performance felt much better.
He returned to the workshop, completed the payment, and left satisfied with his repaired Hyundai Elantra.
This was another real workshop job where careful inspection, correct diagnosis, proper brake work, and a final road test helped us complete the repair successfully
